Award-winning writer and photographer Christopher P. Baker has an association with National Geographic extending back more than two decades.
He is the author of seven travel books published by National Geographic, including National Geographic Traveler Panama and National Geographic Traveler Costa Rica, which he also photographed. His approximately 30 other travel guidebooks include Moon Costa Rica, plus Eyewitness Costa Rica, the Traveler’s Companion Costa Rica, and AA Key Guide Costa Rica, as well as the Explore Guide Panama, all of which he also photographed.
Chris participated in his first adventure cruise in Costa Rica in 1993 (see ‘The Jungle by the Sea’) and he has been a Destination Expert on more than a dozen ‘Costa Rica & Panama Canal’ expedition cruises on behalf of National Geographic Expeditions / Lindblad Expeditions.
An accomplished photographer and photo instructor, he photographed the National Geographic Traveler series guidebooks to Colombia and Costa Rica, and has led photo tours for National Geographic Expeditions in association with Santa Fe Workshops.
A gifted speaker, he has spoken twice at National Geographic Live!
