On January 20 I posted a piece to my blog entitled ‘Let’s Stop Calling Cuba Unsafe.’ It was a variant on an op-ed piece I posted the same day to Smerconish.com at the invitation of CNN TV anchor and SIRIUS XM Radio host Michael Smerconish.

Then I tweeted the link… which got retweeted by, among others, @Granma_Digital.

Then Granma, the daily newspaper of Cuba (officially it’s the newspaper of the Communist Party of Cuba), published its own story about my story. Then it made the Cuban radio and TV news. Fame at last!

I’m delighted. The inane and, following the FBI report, patently false accusations of “sonic attacks” needs exposing far and wide as a, er, trumped up charge intended to scare off U.S. citizens. We’re back in the dinosaur Cold War mentality.

Time to end the facade… as well as the U.S. embargo boondoggle. Five and a half decades is enough!
